MSU Grand River Avenue Parking Ramp

A new 730-car parking ramp meets the demand for parking at Michigan State University while respecting the nationally recognized historic character of the University’s north campus. The new ramp is located in a key location on Grand River Avenue as identified in the Campus Master Plan, and places parking on the campus periphery, allowing pedestrian-oriented development of the inner campus. Exterior facades feature field lain brick with stone trim and accents that match neighboring buildings, some of which are more than 100 years old. Site improvements included an improved pedestrian connection from Grand River Avenue to the heart of the north campus, and continuation of the extensive network of pedestrian walks and paths. Use of historic site lighting fixtures and brick pavers in selected areas helped maintain and strengthen the historic character of the north campus.
