University of Michigan Hospital Linear Accelerator Replacement

FTCH performed a study and design for the replacement of the old linear accelerator, vault door, and associated equipment for Treatment Room C522 and Control Room C524 in the University of Michigan Hospital Radiology Department. The department is improving their treatment rooms, control rooms, infrastructure, and equipment, on a room-by-room basis so as not to disrupt patient service.

The treatment room and control room are designed to maximize every inch of real estate in a land-locked area. FTCH architects and engineers worked with the user group to develop the details of the new built-in cabinets and provide appropriate services to new equipment locations. FTCH interfaced with the Varian accelerator equipment vendor, vault door vendor, and hospital physicists to design systems and details that interface appropriately with the new equipment.
