Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
Phoenix, Arizona is The Hertz Corporation’s third largest rental car market in North America. The overall project includes construction of a new, freestanding, consolidated rental car facility that will support the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The Hertz project program includes two areas: the Exclusive-Use Service Site and the Consolidated Facility.
The Hertz Exclusive-Use facility included development of an 18-acre parcel directly adjacent to the consolidated building. Development on the site consisted of constructing a 45,000-sf maintenance and administration building, an 11,000-sf vehicle wash building (consisting of 4 wash tunnels, and 32 fuel positions), a 4-tunnel vehicle prewash building, miscellaneous site functions including remote fueling and delivery, employee parking, and vehicle staging for approximately 2,500 vehicles.
The second component of the project included the development of Hertz allocated spaces within the consolidated rental car building. The project program includes fit-out for an 8,500-sf Hertz customer lobby that consists of customer service counters, a customer lounge and business center, and administrative support functions. Also included within the facility is the Hertz dedicated vehicle rental area. This area includes development of a 10acre portion within the building that includes signage, security, exit guard booths, and the design of a Gold Building in the garage for Hertz preferred customers.
