East Lansing City Centre Parking Ramp

A new parking structure for the City of East Lansing was a key element in the community’s downtown redevelopment plan. Replacing an obsolete ramp on a strategic urban site, this parking structure incorporates restaurant and retail spaces on the street level. The mixed-use program fosters a more animated pedestrian experience than its predecessor and, thus, further stimulates the urban redevelopment of East Lansing.

Upper level pedestrian bridges conveniently connect the facility to a downtown hotel and a multiuse commercial building. The use of glass-backed elevators and glass-enclosed stairs, along with increased lighting levels, create a sense of openness, visibility, and safety in areas of public access.

FTCH provided architectural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering services. Carl Walker, Inc. served as the parking consultant and structural engineer on this project.
