CommunicationTrust is a key ingredient to our success at FTC&H and trust begins with good communication throughout the organization. The open door policy at FTC&H truly works. Information is shared freely with many avenues for staff to get involved. Following are a few examples of the importance placed on effective communication. L-I-N-K-SThis committee puts into practice unique opportunities for better communication. An example is when committee members heard a child of one of our environmental engineers thought his dad was an architect. That was the first year a children's art contest was launched. Each year, children enter a contest of their original art and a written summary on a topic such as, "What My Parent Does at FTC&H." Each child receives a gift as well as is "published" in a booklet to keep ---- all are winners! "We Do That"Staff led lunchtime presentations held to inform staff about current projects and departmental activities. This is also a forum for staff to practice presentation skills. CatalystThis diverse staff group meets monthly to provide a means for enhancing better understanding, communication, and action connected with the firm's core values and vision. Ask the...A small group of staff members are gathered together to meet with department management such as Management Committee, Marketing, Information Technology, Human Resources. Questions about operations and philosophy are discussed and it provides one more opportunity to interact within the firm. IntranetAn extensive internal website serves as an electronic bulletin board for staff celebrations and events, an ad board, photos, procedural manuals, project lists, handbooks and other helpful information for staff to reference. The ConnectorThis monthly newsletter is published to update and remind staff about the general events and information in relation to people, projects and more. two issues also are mailed home for families to stay in tune with firm happenings. OverflowAnother internal newsletter distributed as needed to announce promotions, certifications, and retirements. |
