Sustainable Design
Green Buildings . . . Sustainable Design . . . Restorative Development . . . Design for the Environment . . . These are terms commonly used to define the holistic design disciplines that reduce, eliminate, or reverse the environmental impacts of human industry and generate positive economic results. FTC&H believes respecting the environment is the right thing to do and is committed to designing environmentally responsible buildings and interiors. The employees of FTC&H have played a significant leadership role in this evolution. We believe organizations can successfully embrace these economically intelligent design strategies by using proven standards and technologies that are based on life-cycle methodology.
Our approach draws from our experience and a diversity of service capabilities that are applied individually or through teams tailored to meet the requirements of each project. Economic opportunities for a project are best considered at the beginning of design. This integrated approach creates synergies that reduce project expense and enable teams to weigh the first costs with long-term benefits. We understand designing for the environment is much more than the application of sustainable design strategies and technologies; it is the infusion of these principles with an elegant and functional design that results in places that lift the human spirit. |
