Energy Assessments

Energy Assessments

As the or world’s energy resources continue to become increasingly limited as demand rises and nonrenewable resources are depleted, many organizations are looking for ways to cut costs and be more environmentally-friendly. Our professionals will work to apply their collective knowledge to help your organization substantially cut energy costs by minimizing energy consumption and containing energy expenditures. FTC&H can help set energy reduction targets for your facilities, develop an energy management plan, benchmark facility energy use, prepare Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventories, perform energy assessments, and prioritize, engineer, and implement energy efficiency projects.

We can also provide technical engineering analysis of potential HVAC, electrical, lighting, envelope, and plug load energy optimization measures (EOM) determined during the retro-commissioning process. Our analysis would provide EOM construction costs, energy savings, and investment payback and life cycle cost values that would enable you to evaluate and prioritize EOM implementation.

President Obama’s New Energy for America plan indicated “the cheapest, cleanest, fastest energy source” is energy efficiency. He dedicated $3.2 billion to the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants (EECBG) Program, funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). The Federal grants can be used to reduce energy use and fossil fuel emissions and for energy efficiency improvements. Energy efficiency has become a cornerstone of the economic stimulus package and rightly so, it is the largest, most important and least expensive way to provide energy cost reduction in a facility. Energy efficiency is the preferred method compared to renewable energy.
